Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants & Children
(WIC)
The WIC Program provides monthly vouchers (or in some cases food packages) for nutritious foods to supplement the diets of low-income pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children through age five who are at nutritional risk.

96,000 (40-50%) of Colorado infants benefited from the WIC Program in October 2007
3/4 of the WIC budget goes to food distribution
